Whether you just brought Fluffy home, or Whiskers has been a part of your family for years, you will need to be able to choose the right cat products to meet her needs. Cats do have different needs from dogs or other types of pets, but you can easily choose the right supplies for your feline friend.
When you get ready to shop for cat supplies, keep in mind that there are three main categories of supplies you will need to choose from. Keep in mind also that each cat will have her own specialty needs, so you cannot forget that.
1. Cat Food. Obviously, Mrs. Kitty will need quality food. Cats are carnivores and need food that is designed just for them. Dog food is not sufficient because it includes vegetable matter designed for canine omnivores. When you choose cat food, you will need to decide if you want to feed your furry friend canned or dry food. Next, you will need to decide what formula of food you want. Cat foods can be tailored to feed kittens or adult cats and can include weight control, hairball control, and urinary tract health.
2. Cat Toys. You know that Patches will need plenty of play toys, and there are plenty to choose from. Cat toys can include catnip or feathers, jingle balls, or crinkle things. Keep in mind that every cat’s personality is different, and yours may prefer one type of toy over the other.
3. Behavior and Training. This category will include the litter and litter pan that you will need for the kitty, but it also includes certain behavior needs for cats, like calming sprays or sprays that will keep cats off forbidden areas.
When you are caring for a cat, whether young or old, you will need to make sure you have all of the cat supplies they will need.
